Proud of what we built, excited for what’s next: a personal update from Amanda Adams

co-Executive Director

I’m writing to share some personal news. I’ve accepted a leadership position with another province-wide charity and, as such, my last day at BC Policy Solutions will be November 27. This was not an easy decision as I love this team, the community I’ve become a part of and the incredible work being done at this critical time but it is the right choice for me and my family.

I joined BC Policy Solutions in the summer of 2025, just months after its launch, and it has been a privilege to help build this organization over the past year and a half. Together we’ve grown a home for independent, rigorous research on the social, economic and environmental justice issues that shape life in BC. I’m proud of what we’ve built together, and none of it would have happened without you.

The organization is in excellent hands. Iglika Ivanova will keep leading BC Policy Solutions as Executive Director, and our research team, including Alex Hemingway and Véronique Sioufi, is doing some of the most rigorous progressive policy work in the province. But the research you see is only part of the story. Behind every report, event and campaign is an incredibly talented and dedicated staff team, who keep everything running and truly make it all happen. I’m grateful to have worked alongside every one of them.

I’m excited about this next chapter, and I’m just as excited about what’s ahead for BC Policy Solutions. The need for evidence-based policy in BC has never been greater, and this team is ready to meet the moment.

Before I go, I’d love to see you in person. Please join us next week at our inaugural Gala featuring Cory Doctorow on Thursday, November 12, at the Fraserview Hall in Vancouver to celebrate this community and the work ahead. It would mean a lot to thank many of you face to face. You can get your tickets here.

Leaving doesn’t mean stepping away. I’ll stay a proud supporter and monthly donor, and I’ll keep cheering this work on and hope to continue to collaborate with the team in my new role.

Thank you for your trust, your generosity and your belief in this work. It has been a privilege.

In solidarity,
Amanda Adams
Co-Executive Director, BC Policy Solutions

P.S. If you can’t make it to the Gala, a year-end gift is a wonderful way to show the team you’re behind them: bcpolicy.ca/give.
